Below is an ad for my 2008 BMW X5SD SE, this is the twin turbo (286bhp) model and is in excellent condition, I've tried not to 'sell' the car in the ad below, as much as present the facts, I would welcome and encourage a professional inspection.

I have a full list of what's o the car, I've tried to separate these below between Options and Standard Equipment:
11. Optional Extras:
20" BMW wheels (Y-spoke 214)
Sports package
Sports suspension
Remote/Automatic Boot Opening
Xenon Lights
Headlight cleaning system
Metallic Grey Paint
Light package
Rain sensor
Footplate, aluminium
Deleted, model lettering
Navigation system Professional
Brown Nevada Leather Interior
Area-Code 2 for DVD
Park Distance Control - Front & Rear
Preparation, mobile phone, Business
Sports seats
CD changer for 6 CDs
Cruise control with brake function
HiFi speaker system
Reversing camera
Seat heating driver/passenger
Seat heating, rear
Seat adjustment, electric, with memory
Smoker package
Interior trim strips, brushed aluminium
Individual sunshade glazing
BMW Assist
BMW Online
Floor mats
Headlining anthracite
Panorama glass roof
Sports leather steering wheel
12. Standard Equipment:
Self-levelling suspension
Alarm system/Immobiliser
Roof railing
Wheel bolt locks
Automatic air conditioning
Passenger airbag deactivation
Warning triangle and first aid kit
Interior/outside mirror with auto dip
Interior mirror with automatic-dip
13. Bad Bits:
The panoramic roof has issues sliding back, the inside lining and the tilt function are 100% operable but the slide function of the glass roof was sticky and I've never bothered to have this fixed, I believe this is a fairly common fault but as I rarely used the roof, didn't pursue a fix. Alloy wheels would benefit from a refurbishment.
Bear in mind that this is a used car and therefore, not perfect; the car has been priced taking everything into consideration.
Apart from the above, the car is in great condition and has no issues, £16495ono

Nice one, well done!
No, I'm in Edinburgh but down south often.
All the best with your Zed, looks great.
-
Looks like a total bargain, Weill done!
I've had my eyes open for zed for a while and missed this, where did you find it advertised?
-
Looks like a very good roadster, GLWTS.
I see you're looking for something more practical as a replacement, what are you after going for?
-
Hey Mike, thanks very much for posting the pics, it's much appreciated!
Thanks too for the comments about the car, I definitely would not be selling it if I wasn't working in London....... at least the mileage isn't getting any higher! - Over the summer I took it to France and did over 2,000 miles in a week, very easy to do, it makes a great Grand Tourer, very comfortable and refined but with a good turn of pace when required, not to mention economical (for a V6), returning over 41mpg that week on a mix of city centre, country roads and motorways.

I don't think this car will interest too many folk here but if you are remotely interested, there are some pics here: http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/mercedes-benz/e-class/mercedes-e350cdi-coupe-sport-blueefficiency-2010-10-plate-tipronic/1689810

Hi,
I've been looking at prices again for a 370z, does anyone have an idea of whether or not a 'Black Edition' would be worth any more or much more than a Standard GT?
From what I can gather, a decent priced, low mileage 2010 GT should sell for around £17k, what should I expect to pay for a 'Black Edition'?
Thanks in advance,
G

I'm still on the lookout for a new car for my girlfriend, we basically need a second car a few times a week that will be good to drive and have minimal depreciation, had previously looked at a Nissan 370z or BMW 635D, both looked good and I've been looking for a good example of both but now she's seen a 2009 Mini Cooper S JCW which she likes the look of, does anyone here have any experience of these cars or any opinions?
Following a fair few Google searches it looks good fun to drive and pretty quick, also, if bought well, I think would be depreciation friendly.
-
Thanks very much guys, the info is much appreciated.
The orange seats look good in the pics, I'll do a bit more digging and try to find some better pics.
Thanks again,
G

Thanks for the pic Roger, just noticed this......... I reckon the size of a 14 month boy would be on a par with my trolley!
PS - Please pass on my thanks to your son as well!

I've been on the lookout for a new car for my girlfriend for a while and a 370z is still on the shortlist, I've noticed this one on Pistonheads: http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/nissan/370z/370z-coupe-3-7-v6-gt-ultimate-3dr/1044604
Looks pretty good, was wondering what the difference is between the 370z GT 'Ultimate' and a 'Regular' GT? - Can't seem to find any info on this!
Cheers,
G

Thanks for all your thoughts on the 635D, much appreciated!..... Still no decision from my better half though!
Gotta agree about the comments on the engine;it is epic, I've got the same engine in my X5 and love it.

My girlfriend is looking for a new car and her focus has now moved onto a BMW 635D, we test drove a 2009, 21,000 mile car at a BMW dealer yesterday in perfect condition. We both really liked the car but I was curious as to what you guys thought on a few things since I found you guys had some really good info regarding other potential car purchases in the past.
Firstly, what do you think of the 635d?
Secondly, What do you think the car is worth?
Thirdly, I don't usually buy cars from a franchised dealer; how much will they generally move on the asking price (It's only just come into stock) and are they more likely to move further on price since we have no trade in and require no finance?
Let me know what you think, cheers,
G

Looks awesome, how does it compare with the zed in real world mpg?
-
Hey Jay,
She almost got a 370 roadster but she couldn't agree on a price, wasn't far away but not close enough to push a deal through unfortunately.
Still keeping an eye out for a good deal; she is very specific about what she's looking for and is in no rush; we sold her car in November and it's not caused us any issues as we commute together, it's only gonna be an issue when I start playing golf after work again so I reckon we'll have until the clocks change when it'll become a pressing issue.
Until then, my brief is to find something that fits into the following criteria:
Good price to minimise depreciation (she's an accountant!)
Sat nav
Parking assist (pref camera)
Good fun
Desirable colour
Reliable
Unlikely to incur repair bills
Fits golf clubs
Something I would want to drive (chances are, no matter what she gets I'll end up driving it as she's fallen in love with my X5)
Above is my remit, my preference is a 370z roadster or a Boxster but it won't be the latter because my previous Boxster had a few very expensive repairs, unlike my zed which cost £1.20 in three and a half years on repairs over and above servicing, tyres and brake pads.
-
Thanks very much guys, all your comments are much appreciated. Delighted to hear that I'll get my clubs in! - That was the main reason I sold my Elise.
I've had a quick look at the Roadster advertised here and it looks great but to be honest we don't want to go above £17k, also, we're gonna try to drive both a Coupe and Roadster, as well as an Auto and a Manual so we're still undecided about what we're after. I think I'd like a Manual Roadster and my girlfriend prefers an Auto but unsure about Coupe or Roadster.... It's gonna be her car so she'll have final say .... But I'll hopefully have a fair bit of influence!
-
Are there any updates on this? - Did you hear back from the police at all?
Hope it all ends well.
-
I'm looking to get my girlfriend a new car and considering the 370z as I really liked my 350z when I had it, that was a coupe so we're thinking of may looking at Roadsters, firstly for a change and secondly, they might be better value at this time of year, does anyone have any experience of the Roadster being much cheaper in winter?
Also, has anyone ever tried to get golf clubs into a Roadster? - If so, how did you get on?
Thanks in advance.

My girlfriend and I are currently commuting together so really only need one car, therefore, we're selling her Honda CR-V, I don't know if there'll be any interest here but I thought there'd be no harm in posting an ad:
- 44,000 miles
- FSH (Next Service in 10 months or 8,500)
- MOT & Tax until End of September 2013
- One Previous Lady Owner
- Excellent Condition
- Pics: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/twhewzwjup45dla/8YOykeX_dt?lst
- The Dynamic Pack includes 19†Onyx Alloy Wheels (recent Pirelli PZero tyres all round), Front and Rear Aero Bumper and rear Tailgate Spoiler. The Dynamic Pack is a relatively rare £3,000 optional extra from new and really sets the car apart from other CR-Vs.
The top of the range EX Spec includes the following:
- Panoramic Glass Roof
- Privacy Glass
- Full Leather
- DVD Sat Nav
- Reverse Camera
- Front and Rear Parking Sensors
- Bluetooth
- Dual Control Climate Control Air Conditioning

- CAT 1 Alarm and Immobiliser
- Cruise Control

This car has been faultless in more than two years of ownership and when compared to similer cars currently for sale I think it's well priced at £12,500ono
- 44,000 miles
-
SOLD - Cheers Stuart!

Some very good points, very well made!
The wheels are 18"; I had some issues attaching pics so I've created this link, hopefully it works: https://www.dropbox....5dla/8YOykeX_dt

This will not appeal to the majority of people on here but when I had my zed I needed something a little more frugal that I could put miles on so thought it wouldn't do any harm to post in case anyone fins themselves in the same position I did.
This car belongs to my other half and has been very lightly used over the last couple of years because of her maternity leave I have an X5 that we use for family duties so get very little use out of the E350, especially now she’s back working in the city centre and I work from home 4 days per week the car is barely being used at all, therefore, we’ve taken the decision to sell after five and a half really enjoyable years with it.
We bought the car initially as a bit of a Grand Tourer, intending to use it for a summer of long drives into Europe then ended up keeping it. During the time we’ve owner the car it’s been utterly reliable and had very few repairs; both faults have rectified by Craig Moncrieff and his team using genuine Mercedes parts.
The car has one previous owner and Full Service History; it’s been serviced at the correct intervals, initially by Mercedes Benz in Bristol. In our ownership the car has been serviced by Jack Walker Partnership in Edinburgh and all service records are recorded on the Mercedes service database, ensuring all services types were carried out at the correct time, again, using only genuine Mercedes parts.
The car is in excellent condition for its age and mileage; we took a decision in spring to keep the car long term so had a few minor scrapes on the bumper repaired, the alloy wheels refurbished and fitted a new set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres, since then the car has covered approx. 1500 easy miles so the tyres are virtually as new. To my knowledge, there are no faults with the car other than a couple of minor scrapes, minor stone chips and an approx 2” crack on the bum of the driver seat; this has never bothered me as I never see it when I’m sitting on it.
Below is a breakdown the important facts and figures:
Stats:
Mileage: 109,800
Registered: 22/04/10
MOT Exp: 01/05/19
Colour: Palladium Silver
Interior: Black Leather
Equipment:
Full Service History:
Mercedes Benz Bristol: 12/11/2010 at 16,818 miles
Mercedes Benz Bristol: 05/07/2011 at 33,773 miles
Mercedes Benz Bristol: 20/01/2012 at 50,730 miles
Mercedes Benz Bristol: 03/09/2012 at 66,868 miles
Mercedes Benz Bristol: 15/04/2013 at 84,304 miles
Jack Walker Partnership: 16/05/2014 at 92,646 miles
Jack Walker Partnership: 01/07/2015 at 97,048 miles
Jack Walker Partnership: 19/07/2016 at 103,270 miles
Jack Walker Partnership: 03/08/2017 at 107,135 miles
Jack Walker Partnership: 15/08/2018 at 108,850 miles
149 days until next service
Despite the high mileage the car drives very well and as per above, could not have been maintained any better; the car is also only ever valeted by an ex-Mercedes Valet employee who now runs his own business.
Any inspection is welcome and please don’t hesitate to ask if you have any questions regarding the car.
The car was valeted yesterday and is ready to go, considering the history and condition, £8,200 is a fair price for a hassle free sale.
