aha! - answered my own question.....didnt notice until i looked on the outside on the window.....its definately heated as there are loads of wires running through the glass by the black border!

LOl....well i pressed it and nout happened other than a little light glowing and then something started saying ..."t-minus 10..9..8.." Looks like the rear window demister is turned on by pressing the first dial on the centre console by the gear stick...so im guessing the button on the right is for the windscreen (if it does anything that is). Wouldnt the windscreen have thin metal lines or something if its heated?

On my JDM theres a little black box stuck to the windscreen above the mirror. It has the letters "ETC" or "CTC" on it. I dont think its a GPS receiver as theres a Sony one stuck on the dash. The car came with a fancy DVD player with tv, satnav etc. Any ideas? Cheers

Im not sure if my 2002 JDM has a heated front windscreen. I need to get the glass replaced!.... Whats the switch for next to the traction button on the right....it has a heat type icon on it...is this for the rear window? cheers

Hi, Driving on the mway yesterday a nice stone hit my windscreen and a lovely 1" crack appeared!! Just grateful it wasnt my bonnet it hit! Anyway i looked this morning and it turned into a nice 6" crack! Ive phoned glassline to arrange the replacement (through my insurance) and they wanted to know if it had a tint - its a JDM, can anyone confirm if they usually have a "green tint" i cant really tell myself. Also, will they have to change the rubber seal/trim? Any tips on getting this done properly would be appreciated! Cant believe i got a crack already, had an FTO for 3 years - not a thing - had a 350Z 4 weeks and got this!! cheers mark

Cheers for that, will give it a try. If it works then its got 2 immobilisers installed - bonus! I heard that the factory fitted one is more secure as its linked into with the ECU? Mark

Does your dash LED still flash? I had a Toad Ai606 fitted to meet CAT 1 requirements. Do you know if the stock immob would still be working? The buttons on the key fob open and unlock the doors but dont disarm the toad. cheers

Hi, What kind of security would my 2002 import have had put in the factory? It had a cat 2 immobiliser put in when it was put through the SVA. There is a flashing LED on the dash above the dials which looks factory fitted. Would having an aftermarket immobiliser supercede the factory one (if any). Which would be more secure? Can they both work at the same time? cheers Mark

Hi all, On my Jap import, there are some strange, what i believe to be aerials. There are 2 stuck to the internal windscreen, just where you would put your "kev and sharon" sticker (if you have those kind of issues). They are see through plastic/polythene, sort of in the shape of a typical sun visor with a wire running through them. Theres also a single black rubber thing stuck on the outside at the top of the boot window. Im thinking about going DAB and was wondering if these would be of use? The previous stereo was a fancy Sony satnav/minidisc/DVD/TV thing. cheers Mark

cheers. Ive just removed the "fairlady" badge, using hair dryer and tar spot remover, but i can still see the outline of the "Z" when looking close. All the glue has gone but it seems that the area "outside" of the Z is sort of matt. Whats the chances of me rubbing too much and removing the clearcoat in that area? I just used a cloth. Its the area which you would struggle to clean properly if you were cleaning it with the badge still on.

Hi, Im about to remove the fairlady badge. You couldnt get a more blokey car than a 350z and i dont think the "fairlady" badge fits imo. Besides that, it sound completely gay! (nevermind the fact that ive since become the butt of many a joke!) So im gonna get the hairdyer and dental floss out and start sawing (any tips btw?) Ive seem a replacement from JDM for about £30 which is plastic, but are the orignal 350z badges also plastic or are they metal? cheers Mark

Hi, Is it possible to put a UK spec dial on a Jap import? Im on about the 3rd small dial which displays the km/ l etc. Starting to bug me now (though the speed on this actually shows in MPH! - writing says KMH though) If so, can you literally just swap them over or does it need a bit of reprogramming somewhere? many thanks, Mark

cheers, dont think thats the one though - ive looked at both ends of that lead and the "female" end isnt right. It needs to take 24 pins in 2 rows of 12 - guess the plug in the car has already been changed by the looks of it. Ill keep looking! thanks Mark

Hi all! Good to be part of a forum actually worthwhile for a change!! Last car was an FTO, (infact anyone wanna buy it?!) but the z is in a league of its own, the two arnt comparible - the two arnt even on the same planet! Its a Jap import, grade 5, only 5000 miles (yes you heard right), 2002, manual, basic model but i had to get it cause of the low mileage!. Smells and looks brand new! Been in UK a year - previously owned by someone who had more money than sense, just his toy - He prefered his Ferraris!! Cant stop grinning when i drive it!

thanks, ill dig out my circuit tester and see if the plug is live. Ive attached a pic of the the socket on the stereo if that helps. Its says "24P connector" by it. 2 rows of 12 pins, all in a straight line. Is is still the Micra loom i need? cheers Mark
