  1. Someone i know has some standard 18" zed alloys. Hes adamant that they havent had a refurb. Theres paint on the balancing weights which to me says it mustve been refurbed at some point. Would this ever happen in the factory? Any other tell tale signs? Just how "perfect" are factory finished alloys?
  2. cheers... I want to see how i get on without paint at first......its on the rear quarter so will be visable with paint touchup i should imagine.... Whats best sort of filler polish?
  3. There a small chip (about 3mm) and a very thin scratch (too deep to polish out), on my gunmetal JDM...What best way to hide this without paint? How about some sort of filler polish or wax? cheers Mark
  4. mines definately heated - has the wires going around the edge and button to control next to the ESP button.
  5. Thought id come back to update this.... After about a month of waiting for a replacement screen i finally got it swapped. I must say that RAC windscreens (Wolverhampton) did a great job. Cant really complain other than the silly waiting time. They said it needed importing from Japan as the UK ones arnt heated - is this true or just blag cuz they couldnt get one for ages?
  6. theres around 6mm tread - only done 7000 miles, so maybe i can get away with just the one if someones got one
  7. I believe that they are 7.50" front 8.00" rear (according to Lomoto)
  8. Is it wise to replace a 235/50/17 with a 225/50/17? (rears on my JDM) Would this cause problems? 225's are more readily available and cheaper!
  9. Couple of tyres - 235/50/17. Part worns possibly. To replace a puntured Bridgestone Potenza RE040 rear nearside. Not wise to replace just the one is it? West Mids area.
  10. hey phil, A little outta my budget im afraid - was hoping to pay a little less after seeing a few sets knocking around lately for £400-£500ish. I may be in for a long wait though eh! Cheers though, appreciated none the less.
  11. Looking to replace my 17" JDM's with some 18" Rays. Just got a puncture so thought nows a good time to replace them all.... Can anyone help? Must have some decent tread on them mind Im in west mids btw cheers !
  12. Its just one thing after another of late! - After finally getting my windscreen replaced when a nice huge crack appeared after hitting a stone on the M6 (rac windscreens did a great job btw), i then got a puncture! Its in the tyre wall so its a complete new tyre which im not happy about! It a JDM with 17" wheels, with orginal Bridgstone Potenza RE040's which i know are supposed to be poor, especially in the wet. The tyre with puncture is the rear nearside - 235/50/17. Will i be able to fit a different sized tyre to the rim and will it effect the speedo readings? Im toying with getting some used 18" alloys and tyres (stock ones) as you can pick them up dirt cheap with good tread tyres. WIll this effect the speedo rating too? What kind of costs are involved in getting the speedo recalibrated if need to? cheers Mark
  13. I take it its a red and black wire i need to connect the charger wires to? Inside the car charger theres a few resistors and a small chip and fuse etc.... I guess that these regulate the current/voltage and MUST be kept in the loop?
  14. nice one Lomoto....the 2 power outlets is a good idea.. So i could take the feed from the same supply to the radio for example? How did you fix the Tom Tom in place?
  15. Hi All! I want to mount my Tom Tom One in the slidey compartment in the upper console on my 02 JDM. Will possibly make some kind of surround out of corrugated plastic and cover in acoustic cloth. Might even use the original tom tom mount.... Anyway...any ideas where the best place is to take the 12v supply from? Cheers Mark
  16. 2 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Surely someone else can do it quicker!! i'd say 3 six inch cracks was an emergency Yep 2 weeks. My insurance company will only pay upto £150 if i dont use their recommended company (RAC), who said that they cant get the glass until 12 July! The cracks havent got any worse though fortunately!
  17. Just toying with the idea of getting an ECU remap for better MPG....Anyone know if this is possible and what kind of gains could be expected?! Its a 2002 JDM. cheers
  18. There was a (Jap) card reader unit fixed to the centre console which was labled mitsubishi electronic toll collection system - even had "ETC" on it same as on the box on windscreen. So is the receiver worth keeping i wonder, will it work in this country and how? Im having glass replaced soon and was gonna say leave it off...
  19. Saw one on ebay for about £100, a bit too much really. Ive almost got used to it now and the only thing i really use is the km/l which ive learned to translate to mpg! Unless of course someones selling one for peanuts then i could be tempted
  20. Right - ive since confirmed that it does have a factory fitted immob which is working along side the aftermarket one i had fitted. I took the transponder out of the keyfob and the engine wouldnt turn over. Cheers Mark
  21. Well the 1" crack is now three 6 inch cracks! Have to wait until the 12th of July though before RAC get the windscreen in. Ah well, atleast its not leaking.
  22. ah of course, good thinking! Threw me a little as there was a seperate unit on the centre console which was for electronic toll also.
  23. ....its alot smaller than that....about 1.5 inch square max.....looks like im gonna have to take a pic!
