  1. Discs, pads and lines and the car will be spot on for road and track.

If you get to the point that it's not then you can upgrade again.

:pmzmanalex: as he is well versed in all functional upgrades.

  2. I'd watch the time limit too. I'm sure most wouldn't be doing big miles but it's worth mentioning that the frequency of checks should increase with mileage.

Would it be worth including 'check yourself links' to Direct Gov or such like to check the legalities of things like tyres, insurance, MOT etc etc. And possibly links to AA or such like for other stuff????

Would things like hoses be worth checking? Quick and easy visual check.

  3. B) Nice Merc. I bet your Pop is in gadget heaven with all those buttons

Like you wouldn't believe. He came from an S Class which had quite a few gadgets. This is in a different league.

My favourites (at a glance) are the Night Vision camera and the 'active' seat bolsters that firm up as you turn - sounds weird but works really well!

Yea the night vision is ace B) . But my fav is the bolsters, feels odd to begin with, but always brings a slight smile to your face

I know someone with the V12 version, I still dont think he knows what all the buttons do ..... and I dont think he cares. Just loves driving :drive1

    The CL65? B) B)

Dad thought about a CL600 but wanted the AMG as it sounded better!

  4. When pulling the ski do you need 4x4 for the jetty bit at all?

I'd say the BMW tourers would be good if no need for 4x4.

Outside the box - '06 Navara. 40mpg on a run, you'll fit every bit of kit you could think of in the back without taking wet stuff inside the car. Can do offroading too.

Must be a Euro 3 though to get that fuel economy!

  6. The car wasn't from Thurso was it? Recently had a member from Thurso with a black one but sold up.

Where in the highlands you from?

Am I a million miles off thinking you're a driller offshore? Where you working / worked? A number of 'tigers' on here. I'm a beach laden pansy these days but have done my fair share in the field.

  7. Stop/start technology and a host of economy improvements. It's the 2012 with the 5.5 twin turbo rather than the 6.2 NA which was horrendous. Even with the Performance PAckage (570+ bhp and 670 lb/ft) and a HUGE kerb weight it manages 20-25 MPG without too much fuss.

It was showing 20.7 yesterday and he's done nothing but rev it needlessly and floor it for the past few days!

    So not that bad really.
