Has anyone fit an iPad mini in the cubby hole - or is it too big?

Hi guys. Can get a really cheap government discount on an iPad from teh states right now - can they fit in the cubby hole and has anyone done this?

 

I've had a NEXUS 7 but never an iPad, and I'm out of the country right now so I can't check out my Z to measure it up.

It will fit some some modification.. I have a 7" tab 4 in my cubby and theres a bit of space around it

I have my iPad mini where the double din used to reside. A LOT of fabrication work needed but just fits. This replaces my head unit and linked via FULL DA.
