Munich trip in 370z

Hi, I'm thinking about a road trip next year to visit some friends in Munich. Normally I would just go by plane but reading some of the trip reports planted a seed. To be honest I have never driven on the continent so it will all be new to me. What recommendation's I would like are best driving routes and places to stay overnight. I will probably only have 5 or 6 day's to do the return trip so one stop off each way.

 

I live in Yorkshire so will probably head to Dover/Calais (Ferry) or Folkestone/Calais (Train) after that any advice on routes, things to avoid or be aware of?
