Under bonnet mirror / film

Now that I have the bonnet dampers on the car the bonnet is quite high - great for showing off the engine bay (not that it's anywhere near done yet...)

 

Question is, has anyone got any experience of mirror type material on the flat parts on the underside of the bonnet? What do you think of it? What to use? Any effects on the engine itself (heat etc?)?

 

I found this stuff, and apart from weight and cutting it to shape would it be suitable??

i have seen the stuff you are talking about before on a car but i am sure it is a vinyl type stuff rather that stainless steel which would be a complete nightmare to cut plus cost a fortune !

That's what I was thinking, but then with a film it is going to be very close to a very hot engine, and don't want it warping / melting / getting permanently stuck on there. Anyone know what this stuff is??
