98duffa Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 hi all i have had a read this is just to confirm, as i was driving home today i noticed my clutch pedal travel goes halfway down before any pressure, also upon getting to the bite when pulling away it is fine but then straight after the bite the pedal springs up just after. Im presuming the slave is prob the issue or is it master or something else cheers all Quote
ZMANALEX Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Swop out the slave, line and fluid Andy and you should be fine, worst case scenario will be a new master cyl. Alex. Quote
98duffa Posted July 1, 2014 Author Posted July 1, 2014 also to add its the DE engine on a 55plate with 42,000miles on the clock Quote
98duffa Posted July 1, 2014 Author Posted July 1, 2014 Cheers Alex, it is the common issue then or at least 98% certain Quote
98duffa Posted July 4, 2014 Author Posted July 4, 2014 Fitted a new Nissan slave cylinder, uprated hose and uprated high temp fluid, did a long journey all seemed ok until near my home and then again there was a lot of freeplay at the start of pressing the peadal and the bite was lower upon releasing as before it was near the top and then straight after the bite the freeplay. as i actually got to my home the amount of freeplay gad reduced to nearly nothing again, any ideas? ZMANALEX Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Yes, either you still have air in the hydraulic system (more than likely) or you have a master cyl. on the way out: Alex. Quote
98duffa Posted July 4, 2014 Author Posted July 4, 2014 thats the thing no leaks etc or residue, got all the air out which was a bitch i just dont want to keep throwing money at something that i havent got. Only Z ive ever owned with an issue Quote
98duffa Posted July 4, 2014 Author Posted July 4, 2014 also to add ive used dot 5.1 and a complete flush Quote
ZMANALEX Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 As said before, more than likely you have not got all the air out the hydraulic system, however if you have it will be the master cyl. Best to bleed again following the proper Nissan recommended bleed procedure. A very small amount of trapped air will give you the symptoms that you are experiencing trust me. Alex. Quote
