Exhaust noise question

As my new rear bumper is almost done the rear pipes need to be 1inch further apart than a standard 350z exhaust.

I currently have Berks Cats, HR ypipe, Fujitsubo mid pipe and back box

Im going to get a custom exhaust done for the rear pipes...if i have straight pipes from the fujitsubo centre pipe to tips is that gonna be ridiculously loud (i.e no back box)

is there that much quietening properties in the back box??

Well, I had a hole on the join to the back box from the centre pipe, and when it was the size of a 5p piece the car sounded unbearably loud!

Think quites a lot of the sound is restricted by the backbox, and a fair ammount by the cats.
