fusible link confusion...

Hey guys Im hoping you can help me.

I was just looking through my fuse box underneath the bonnet to check for any blow fuses. I know how to check all the single fuses (they are all fine) BUT I have know idea how to check if the fusible links are blown!!! Does anybody have a pic or something of a blown fusible link and a pic of a "good" fusible link???

Do I have to remove the fusible link to check it is ok, or can i just tell by looking in the clear plastic?
