slimjim Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Can I respray/touch up my center dash section at all? I have a few scruffs and marks down to the "grey" under coat. DON'T want to wrap it... carbon or black or any other colour. Can I just touch up the spots that there are? Or do I need to do the whole lot? Suggestions please guys... They look WORSE in real life than the do in the images Quote
ersen.o Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 id like to know if theres a quick fix for this too! Quote
gort Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 http://www.humbrol.com/search/?page=0&s ... 1181182346 bought a tin of black, but might need a tin of grey to mix with it to get the right shade Quote
Karlp Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Mines pretty beat up too would like to know if anyone else has sprayed there dash and what results are like? Quote
MacW Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 I used a black crayon on mine, it's not perfect but unless you know what you're looking for it's pretty damn good Quote
MidnightRacer Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 I just had mine flocked to cover up all the gash scratches. fluffy grey and black! Quote
MidnightRacer Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 it was done by Jorvik Engineering in York fella. They do our powder coating at work. Had my old MX5 dash done and it seemed like a good idea to cover up the gash dash! Quote
Karlp Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 York not too far from me, what price are we talking dude? Quote
MidnightRacer Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Its all dependant on what you have done, I had a load of parts done so difficult to really say. I'd say its slightly cheaper than a professional paint job. they have a website, you can ask em through that! Quote
Karlp Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Thanks dude, was thinking just the centre dash, are talking £200, £300+ Quote
MidnightRacer Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 If its just the centre bits on the dash then I'm sure you would be talking nearer £50 to £80 tops Quote
MidnightRacer Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 also worth mentioning that I dismantled all the parts to be done and provided them. thats a bit of a job in itsself! Quote
kevlo Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 is there a way to touch up the soft feel paint ontop of the 3 pods (oil temp, voltage, and computer) Quote
MidnightRacer Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 not that I know of. You can replace those bits individually though if one is damaged Quote
kevlo Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 thanks, sorry to the op for barging in do we know where is the best place to get them from? Quote
