Whats it for ?

can anyone tell me what the little illuminated button is for on the birdview satnav remote sensor next to the screen?

 

I've pushed it (as you would) but it dosnt seem to do anything

 

also I cant find the holder for the remote, it says in the manual there should be one

Its not a button its a sensor.

 

There is no holder for the remote, it just goes in the centre console next to the blue tooth adapter.

I've got a holder for the remote! Mounted on the rear bulkhead between the seats. Specifically placed to be a real pig to grab while driving (which of course I never do coz that wouldn't be safe).
