Dove32 Posted April 14, 2011 Share Posted April 14, 2011 Hey all, Just a quick question hopefully someone can help me with. I have loud rattling noise coming from my car/engine when the car is idle and the clutch is out, also when the car is accelerating from idle to 2.2k revs then the rattle continues but stops over 2.2k revs. When the car is idle and the clutch is in then there is no noise at all. The car did have a lightweight flywheel added before I bought the car a while back and ive been putting up with it, but its beginning to drive me insane! Before i replace the clutch and flywheel i wanted to make sure it was this and that do that would solve the issue. ZMANALEX Posted April 14, 2011 Share Posted April 14, 2011 By your description it will be the gearbox idler gear rattling away due to you having a single mass lightened flywheel. The fix is simple, fit an OEM Dual Mass Fly and hey presto the noise will be gone. viewtopic.php?f=157&t=31543 Plenty in stock and good to go same/next day Exedy stock clutch kits also in stock.
