P3 Service Advice

I know this has been asked like a gazillion times but ive looked around the forum and seen the varous guides here on when the car needs servicing but here is my problem.

The car is an 06, had a P1 in 07 and then a P1 before i bought it in 2010, its been 8 months since the last P1 and it has 25k miles on it, and ive done around 10k miles so i know the cars overdue a service, and in my eyes it needs a p3, so ive booked a p3 at hanwell london, they are asking for 399, remember it is london and labour prices probably are higher than normal.

My next question is, what should i get in addition, its overdue a brake fluid change aswell, should i bother asking nissan to do this with stock brake fluid or get somthing better and change it myself or when i sell on will people like to know the brake fluid has been changed by nissan, whats your thoughts on this?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks introspect, now youve got me thinking on what fluids i want in there

They dont change spark plugs on a P3 do they and its not much difference between a P2 but hey i need that stamp in my book.

Anybody got any suggestions on what my car could do with?

Thanks.

I got similar quotes as you I'm in London also, one was even £412 without plugs call Abbey they gave me a much cheaper quote and included a brake fluid change in the service your plugs don't need changing yet 5 years or 60,000 miles I believe.

+1 on using Abbey, will be much cheaper than anyone else in the area and they actually know what they are doing!!

As my car is an 06 it has been 5 years, the plugs are due a change are they not?

plus -

Thanks on all the replys guys, im probably going to stick with nissan, even though i know abbey are going to be better, i think when i come to sell on it may make things easier, everybody loves a dealer stamped service book.

Think I will also go for a brake fluid change with Nissan aswell. Any suggestions on what oil to put in (both engine and brakes).

Also im going to ask them to check over the car as ive been hearing some clicks every in reverse. Also high consumption of oil ( common problem ) I only just noticed today that my oil was low again after only topping up a few thousand miles ago!

Plugs are 5 years or 54,000 miles, whichever comes first. Your car is 06 so that means the plugs are due. A good garage might well work it out but as it is a separate operation, to be on the safe side it would be best to specifically ask for them to be included IMHO.

394 to do the plugs aswell from nissan :scare:

crazy prices. I think ill go to abbey to get the plugs done!

Part of the reason for the cost is that the plugs account for somewhere around 2 hours of labour.

I have taken my car to Abbey and would have total confidence in them. For me it would be as much to with their expertise as the cost.
