maybe car problem

hi

 

wondering if anyone can help me, on friday i purchased a 2006 350z gt roadster, its the 296hp uprev model.

when im in any gear and i put my foot down it revs up a little before dropping again and pulling away.

its sounds like the clutch is slipping but tryed pulling away from stand still in 4gear and the car pulled away fine.

does the car rev up because its the uprev model or does it sound like i have a problem?

thank god for that, thought id only had the car 5days and already the clutch needs replacing!

I assume your talking about when you change gear? You get a slight blip on the revs?

 

If so nothing to worry about.....

If not, you will need a new engine...

This is the problem I had and I decided to change my clutch. It was the clutch that was on the way out.

 

The problem I had applied foot hard engined reved hard then dropped and then picked up speed if it's the same as this best to change mate

no say im crusing along at 3000rpm 3rd gear around 40mph, if i plant my foot flat to the floor it revs upto near 4000rpm then back down to around 3250rpm before pulling away like the clutch is slipping.

tried the clutch test ie: pulling away from stand still in 4gear and pulled away without stalling.

Yeah but I could do that test at the beginning but before I left it in garage tried to pull away in third and struggled really bad. Mine is in as we speak pick it up tomorrow and can't wait.

Are you suree your foot is deffo off the clutch pedal fully? Where is the clutch bite point?

All cars have different biting points though Paul can't really base it on that mate. Sounds like clutch to me mine went the same way and driving to garage today to drop it off noticed it really bad.

yeah foots definitely off the clutch fully, clutch bites when clutch pedal is released mid way.

will try and get a video of this and post on here 2morow.

Yeah no worries mate. If you do need new clutch best bet is Zmanalex for the parts he is a trader on here provided me with new clutch and flywheel

bought the car from a main nissan dealer on friday and they serviced it a gave me a 12month warranty on the car aswell, but would they cover the clutch as ive only done 200miles in it since friday.

just doesnt really seem fare having it 5days then having to replace the clutch

Worth a try mate but I'm not sure as they may say that is normal wear on the engine and not a fail on the item but bring it back as soon as.

Best thing you can do is take the engineer from nissan out for a ride and show him the problem, Dont you have 14 days by law to exchange if the goods you were sold are not fit for purpose?

Certainly sound like clutch to me.... if it was not slipping i would expect you to struggle to pull away in 4th...

The idea of pulling away in 4th is that it should exaggerate a clutch on the way out and slip more. How many miles has the car done? It does sound like the clutch is slipping when put under full load. Same thing happened to my mk1 mr2.

hey

so dropped the 350 back into nissan on thursday morning, they finally rung me this morning to say the clutch had started to go.

They're now gonna replace the clutch and fly wheel for me, parts wont be here till tuesday so looking end of next week before i get her back

but at least i get to keep there new micra till then

cant wait to see how she drives when shes back
