Wookiee22 Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 I've knackered the hands free microphone from my Alpine HU. The price for a replacement through official channels is a bit , so I was wondering if anyone had one they weren't using available for a more reasonable sum! Thanks! Quote
glrnet Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 I think the Alpine Bluetooth Hands free is Parrot based, I don't have a spare at the moment but do some research and see if that is correct, I'm sure you'll pick up a Parrot mic somewhere if that is the case. I've got some THB & Nokia spares but not sure about the compatibility though Quote
Wookiee22 Posted September 14, 2010 Author Posted September 14, 2010 Thanks! So far I know that it's a 3.5mm jack and that the Garmin mic doesn't work! Quote
Wookiee22 Posted September 15, 2010 Author Posted September 15, 2010 Think the Garmin one doesn't work due to the level of output - can hear it when making a call, but only barely. Does this mean I need a special kind of mic? Quote
Wookiee22 Posted November 25, 2010 Author Posted November 25, 2010 Bump! Anyone have a spare or know of a good source? Quote
sparky370z Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 Does this plug into the BT module? If so I don't think it's a 3.5 jack. eBay sell that type of thing but are pricey. But better than the local audio shop. I'll take a picture of mine in a min and post it up for u. We can compare equipment. Quote
Wookiee22 Posted November 25, 2010 Author Posted November 25, 2010 An equipment-off. Sounds good. It's definitely a 3.5mm jack, it plugs directly into the back of the hu (a 103bt), rather than into a separate module. This is what it looked like: http://www.incarexpress.co.uk/view_product.php?partno=5014386Z03 Can't help but think that 35 quid is a bit steep though! Does this plug into the BT module? sparky370z Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 Oh, if it plugs directly in then. It's not what I'm thinking. Can't u try maplins? They will do all sort of universal mics. Quote
Wookiee22 Posted November 25, 2010 Author Posted November 25, 2010 They do, but seeing as the Garmin one won't work (and it's designed for in car use anyway) I'm slightly wary. Either I'll just have to bite the bullet or perhaps get hold of a parrot mic and use an adaptor. Quote
sparky370z Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 A trip to maplins. And then just try a load of them. But otherwise just buy the proper one as do u really want an adapter floating round? Quote
Wookiee22 Posted November 25, 2010 Author Posted November 25, 2010 Think that may be the way I go! Quote
Wookiee22 Posted June 12, 2011 Author Posted June 12, 2011 Topic Resurrection! I'm still after an Alpine mic, if anyone has one. My trip to Maplin didn't prove particularly fruitful. Quote
