Should I Decat?

Today is the first time in ages that I`ve been on here, so hi guys.

 

I have a blowing exhaust and am wondering what to do, maybe I should go with decat pipes. Just a couple of questions (did a search but didn`t get anywhere)

 

If I fit decat pipes are they legal? ie, would it fail the MOT?

Would it cause any warning lights to appear on the dash?

 

I`m consideringa few exhausts (even the cheapo ebay one) The Scorpion, The Mongoose and the Mongoose with decat pipes.

 

I would appreciate the views of those with experience of the Scorpion and Mongoose. Views on any others that I`m missing that aren`t gooing to break the bank are also appreciated.

 

By the way I have had my Zed for almost 6 years.

de-cat wont pass the mot,race cats/high flow will,not an expert on 350z(yet)but i had supra's for 10years and i noticed the extra power when de-catted.

go race cats , will pass mot least they should just , if you get the berks like i have they come with anti foulers so wont throw a cel.

you will gain a little power but not alot , sounds a bit louder more tuned .

Not much info on the Mongoose but if you use the Advanced Search and put Scorpion in search thread title you 2 pages of info

 

There have been 2/3 good exhaust threads in the last week alone with lots of good feedback

Looks like I will be getting one made while I wait (I got the idea from another thread). I will do a report when I have had it done.
