captint Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 Ok, so my JWT PC was installed by my myself and the man mavis, sounds great with the Kinetix Cats. My problem is now something is vibrating when I go over 5000 revs ( which is more often than not). Its coming from the boot, quite annoying, not my axle's clicking as they are being done on monday, it's a real high pitched buzzing vibration, and no I haven't been shopping at Ann summers Quote
Liam's Z Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 Can't see any relation with the pop charger causing such a weird noise... Anymore clues??? How's she ticking over??? Quote
H5 Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 Unrelated to the JWT Popcharger, but boot catch? Quote
captint Posted September 15, 2006 Author Posted September 15, 2006 Ticking over fine, no engine problems, oil's fine, its something internally behind me, not in me it'self, but in the car, perhaps the rear brace Quote
Liam's Z Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 Radio on or off???? It's not the noisy amp thing is it???? Quote
captint Posted September 15, 2006 Author Posted September 15, 2006 Radio off, it has do be something loose of something rattling around? Quote

Liam's Z Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 I was actually think blue tack Does your boot open and close properly??? Possibly do that penny thing with the struts, may also help Quote
Guest prescience Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 I would say there are 4 possibilities for this noise 1. As mentioned above and you try fixing by applying a small amount of grease to the locating lugs 2. The top of the rear strut brace. Remove all the trim (pull sensibly but firmly to remove), and you will a satin liner underneath, lift that up and you should see a locating lug in the centre - cut it off, it serves no purpose 3. The top of the rear strut brace. Remove all the trim (pull sensibly but firmly to remove), pack in some additional felt, or wadding and replace 4. The manual boot release just below the rear strut brace, you'll just need to see why this is buzzing (if it is) and adjust Quote
captint Posted September 15, 2006 Author Posted September 15, 2006 Great, good advice as usual chaps, there goes my Saturday!! Quote
Stew Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 Just think of all the fun you're going to have blasting about trying to get it to rattle! Quote
captint Posted September 15, 2006 Author Posted September 15, 2006 True, plus with my JWT PC it sounds awesome now, I am just waiting for the performance gain to drop off, it really does feel faster Quote
captint Posted September 17, 2006 Author Posted September 17, 2006 Problem sorted I hope, I took the silver fitting off of the rear strut brace, and pulled out the filling, took out the node thingy and packed it with felt. It seems to have gone, so cheers for the advice. Quote
