Power restricted in 1st & 2nd gear?

My 05 350 feels a bit blunt in the first two gears. Does anyone know if power is restricted in these gears and if there is a way to bypass this? This was most apparent on a recent track day when exiting a 2nd gear hairpin where i was expecting to get good drive out there wasnt much at all. The traction control was off. The car pulls really well in all other gears.

Any thoughts appreciated.

I don't think you get full throttle in 1st and 2nd gear. Mark at Abbey will know loads more as he is currently mapping the ECU and giving you a lot more response in 1st and 2nd. I am no expert but think thats the case, sure someone will come along in a while to explain more or you could PM Mark at Abbey.

It's something like 65% throttle opening is 1st, 70% in 2nd and 80% in 3rd. 4th, 5th and 6th are all 100% but Mark at Abbey I am sure will confirm.

i knew it was limited but i dint know it was that harsh , know wonder uprev makes such a difference to the feel!

this may be a dumb question but is the uprev flash only available for the 2nd generation > engines? or can it be used on the 276bhp ones too?

Uprev need to have asuitablr ROM for it , if you read on the abbey thread you'll see that mark needs either VIN code (if JDM) or ECU nr to check ifthey have the ROM.

Cheers

A (and if you look I got the old old engine and uprev) H-)
