Gowzer Posted February 27, 2010 Posted February 27, 2010 My 05 350 feels a bit blunt in the first two gears. Does anyone know if power is restricted in these gears and if there is a way to bypass this? This was most apparent on a recent track day when exiting a 2nd gear hairpin where i was expecting to get good drive out there wasnt much at all. The traction control was off. The car pulls really well in all other gears. Any thoughts appreciated. Quote
BladesGrant Posted February 27, 2010 Posted February 27, 2010 I don't think you get full throttle in 1st and 2nd gear. Mark at Abbey will know loads more as he is currently mapping the ECU and giving you a lot more response in 1st and 2nd. I am no expert but think thats the case, sure someone will come along in a while to explain more or you could PM Mark at Abbey. Quote
cookiemonster Posted February 27, 2010 Posted February 27, 2010 Yea think its 80% WOT is available, a few of the guys who track theirs and had the remap done say its worth the effort. Have a look at the Abbey Motorsport "uprev" thread. Quote

Valveman Posted February 27, 2010 Posted February 27, 2010 It's something like 65% throttle opening is 1st, 70% in 2nd and 80% in 3rd. 4th, 5th and 6th are all 100% but Mark at Abbey I am sure will confirm. Quote
Gowzer Posted February 27, 2010 Author Posted February 27, 2010 Thanks for the replies. Is good to know i'm not imagining it! Car is totally standard. I'll have a look at the thread mentioned above. Cheers. Quote

Cheers. Yeah if your planning on tracking it again get yourself down to Abbey, for about £350/£400 it will be well worth it. Quote
uzthedentist Posted February 27, 2010 Posted February 27, 2010 this happens on the auto when you have the snow setting on. guess this doesnt apply to the 6 speed though Quote

andlid Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 Well worth it in my opinion even if you don't track the car the price mentioned is for a uprev tune and dyno and not justto get 100% throttle response Quote

Hamster Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 this may be a dumb question but is the uprev flash only available for the 2nd generation > engines? or can it be used on the 276bhp ones too? Quote

Uprev need to have asuitablr ROM for it , if you read on the abbey thread you'll see that mark needs either VIN code (if JDM) or ECU nr to check ifthey have the ROM. Cheers A (and if you look I got the old old engine and uprev) H-) Quote
