That owners manual doesn't answer the question Stuey asked - it simply refers you to the dealer to check the auto transmission levels. :thumbdown:

Thats a good manual then , doesnt even tell you how to check the oil :scare:

 

I would imagine the procedure is the same as most auto's ...get the car to operating temp ., place in P and then run through the box set back to P and check level with car on level ground??

found this on the workshop manual

 

 

 

Checking A/T Fluid ACS000H2

1. Warm up engine.

2. Check for fluid leakage.

3. Remove the tightening bolt for A/T fluid level gauge.

4. Before driving, fluid level can be checked at fluid temperatures of 30 to 50ーC (86 to 122ーF) using “COLDâ€

I might be being extremely thick here - but are we talking about checking oil like you would do on a non Tiptronic car?

 

were talking gearbox oil, not engine oil :thumbs:

I think Stuey's original question was about not being able to find this gauge. I'm still not sure I can find it on mine. :blush:

Oh sorry , didnt read properly.. no mention of this in the Workshop manual :scare: I've a manual gearbox so I dont know either...Isnt there an obvious dipstick on the auto's then??

how do we check the oil level in the auto tip box............ :blush:

 

The dipstick is right at the rear of the engine just in front of the bulkhead. Be careful, the stick is about 3 feet long and can be a bit awkward to get back in properly.
