magrillz Posted January 25, 2010 Share Posted January 25, 2010 Hi guys, Just a quick question, I have seen the various guides to removing the dash on the non-SatNav cars however I have the factory Nav. Has anyone ever attempted a dash removal with Sat Nav, looking at fitting my new stereo this weekend if possible and noticed that the guides normally tell you to remove two screws underneath the rubber mat in the cubby hole but obviously I have a Nav unit fixed in. dcash5 Posted January 25, 2010 Share Posted January 25, 2010 easy, just lift up they buttons with a small screwdriver, they just pop out and then follow the usual guides from there. Managed to pop out the front of the panel but it's still connected near the actual screen. I am worried If I force the control panel it may break and bet the Stealers would charge a fortune for the new one. magrillz Posted January 31, 2010 Author Share Posted January 31, 2010 Well not getting very far, had the stereo all powered up today but no good. Can't get any sound through the Bose. The steering control works fine but can't get any sound. I've gone down a slightly different route that normal as per recommendation from InCarTec. They advised to go for the Non Bose Steering Control adapter with a seperate Bose Intrerface (4 channel adjustment) to sort the volume issue. I'm wondering if this is the issue. Even had a professional installer helping who couldn't suss it out so going to try and ring in car tec in the week. One quick question, I noticed there were 3 connectors in the back of the factory stereo but only 2 connectors on the InCarTec adapter, is this right? Currently driving round with no centre console!! lilwashu Posted May 14, 2011 Share Posted May 14, 2011 To add to this post - if you have a 2006+ model with the nav control "joystick" in the middle of the button panel, you need to remove a small piece of trim (pops up, use a nylon tool to do this) between the screen and the button panel first, which reveals two screws.
