Need recommendation on Bodyshops in Berkshire

As a result of this lovely weather i've had somebody go into the back of my Zed while it was parked on the side of the road. Damge isn't that bad the rear bumper needs a respray and there is a crease behind the passenger side door.

The accident is being covered by the other guys insurance (Aviva) and i've got the option of going through their approved repair company (Autorepair or something) or I can pick my own garage and get an estimate. Ideally I want to get a few other bits done while its in there so if anybody in the berkshire area has any experience of good body shops then I'd like your input.

Cheers!

Thanks alot for that. I just need the insurance compmany to accept the price, i'm more bothered about the standard of work, and looking at their gallery it looks as if alot of owners of expensive cars trust them to do a good job.

EDIT - Just spoke to specialised paintwork and i'm going to try and get it in for an estimate. The bloke on the end of the phone was very friendly and professional.

Cheers for that. Apparently they do alot of work for Aviva so I've got an engineer should be coming out to inspect the damage then it should be off to specialised to get it done. On their website it mentions mechanical work aswell, can anybody vouch for them on this also?

When a truck hit the back of the Elise they did the mechanical assessment and sorted the wheel alignment etc so can vouch for that. Never had anything more than that done.

They are very professional, friendly people that actually care about the cars. You should see the restoration and storage cars they have up there.....! :cloud9:

Yea they seem to have a passion for what they do. Shame there is snow everywhere as I was going to have a drive up. Looks like they have some nice motors in there. Would like to see some of the track prep stuff aswell B)

Thanks again for the recommendation, I didn't want it to go somewhere that the quality of the work is unknown. Just because a place is 'approved' by the insurers doesn't mean its any good. It just means they give the insurance company a cheap deal and joe public are happy with most of the jobs they do.

Just as an update, I visited Specialised paintwork today to get an estimate on my insurance claim.

They were really friendly and have a vast knowledge of what they are doing, some nice motors there aswell B) The guy who I dealt with (forgot his name) referred to my Zed as 'she'. Which I thought was quite nice!

When the owner saw the Zed he mentioned that Vernon kay had recently been in with his GTR to have some bits and pieces colour coded like his door handles! Then he told me he was bringing it in again to have some carbon stuff fitted, he took me upstairs and showed me about 2k worth of carbon fibre that Vernon had shipped over to go on his GTR. I'll get a pic next time I go!
