Anyone who's a bit of a radio Anorak like myself may remember Laser 558 which broadcast from the north sea from 1984, sadly was short lived..

 

There is broadcasts on the net at the moment to celebrate the 25th birthday.

As a kid/teenager I loved Radio Caroline even though the reception wasn't very good. It was ventures like this that led to the creation of Radio 1 & the move towards entertaining younger people.
