Problem or just me??

hi all

just signed up to here

 

have a quick tech question,

 

is it nomall for the z to make a tapping noise (very quiet, only sometimes.eg, TAP 30secs later TAP 3mins later and so on) from the engine when just ticking over?

 

i understand all the gearboxes are noisy just wondered if any1 has heard the above noise also?

apart from that the v6 sound very smooth and clean

 

Hope some1 knows what i mean

 

oh ps, it is a jdm with only 16k in fantastic condition

clutch isn't the quietest but that's quite normal

you cant hear it in the car just out side

half the time i cant even hear it so it maybe just me.

 

might get nissan to take a quick look just in case

sounds like a solenoid cutting in if it only makes the tap at long intervals never heard anything like that on mine

Maybe your fans knackered Ben, I know mines been kicking in allot with this hot weather although mine doesn't make a tapping noise... Get your head under the hood tomorrow and let us know what location it's coming from

new wheels are ordered, just awaiting number plate swap over

 

already changed the rear lights (led 06 type) and head unit to alpine 9855r with ipod.
