5th gear synchro problem

Hi,

 

i've been having problems with my 5th gear. grinding going in from 4th or 6th. A few of you suggested it could be the synchromesh. How do i go about fixing that? any ideas? what parts i need, costs etc?

 

any input would be apreciated as its really getting annoying now.

sounds like a weak synchro , have you changed the oil?if so what came out with the oil anything metal?

 

Gearbox can be rebuilt , but it may be cheaper to fit a good S/H gearbox.
