Last night when leaving work I noticed my exhaust was blowing louder than usual. Went to mates garage this morning and it's splitting right after the joint of the back box, by that I mean on the pipe which is connected to the back box.

So I either need to get a new back box or get the split mig welded, I am tending to think it's better just getting the new box. Mines is the standard exhaust so the question I have is--- Is it cheaper to buy a different exhaust ie Scorpion etc than getting another standard box from Nissan.

Anyone any ideas about price.

I see a Scorpion exhaust on Cougars site for £360, but this looks like the full exhaust system or is it just the back box?

Also I want to get this sorted asap as that extra noise is spoiling the usual growl I'm used to

Hey mate, i had the same thing a few months back. In the end i managed to get it repaired, they cut a piece out then clamped a piece back in its place. Works fine, I do want a new exhaust but this does the job till i decide which to get.

If only this happened whilst the car was still in warranty as this is becoming a regular occurance, and i'm pretty certain this would have been a recall.

Mine went in exactly the same place on the hoon last year bud. I would recommend you bin it and buy a stainless one

Many thanks to John (JT1703) who has offered my his old back box since he had a different exhaust system fitted.

I assume the back box didn't change from a 54 plate to an 05 plate?? That WOULD be just my luck

Any, thanks a million John. Life saver. Going to meet up to collect it off him on his way to the Glasgow meet next Sunday. Still gutted at missing that
