Rubbing From Front Brakes...

Hi guys,

 

I have recently ordered some DBA discs and new pads as my original ones are starting to look and feel a bit tired.

Last weekend (with the window down) I started to notice a light rubbing / scuffing coming from the front driver's side wheel.

 

I jacked the car onto axle stands tonight and spun the wheel around in attempt to locate the issue. The pads still have a 'little' meat left but the inside of the disc is very corroded and seems to be rubbing slightly against the backing plate. I'm not sure if the backing plate has slightly corroded / expanded as I left the wheel on whilst looking under the car.

 

My discs are shot so I don't care about damaging them, I am just wondering if it safe to be driving around whilst I wait for my new brakes to arrive. This is subtle rubbing - I can still easily turn the wheel and spin it by hand, it's not like I have sparks flying out from under wheel....

 

Has anyone else experienced this?

How long until the DBA discs turn up? Assuming you're not going to do 1000s of miles in it, nor 14 laps of the 'Ring, then it should be fine. Just be aware of it and avoid hard braking as much as possible, as you don't want to transfer the extra heat to other more fragile components, or run out of pad material completely.
