MotorMax cooling system booster review

Recommended Posts

I finally managed to put MotorMax in the Radiator after draining about 1L or coolant DIY style:

before MotorMax, the engine water needle would get to a stable position in 7 minutes 15 seconds (cold start)

After MotorMax it now takes a mere 6 minutes, indicating the heat is transferred much more quickly. (following day, cold start again, of course)

The water temperature needle seems to sit a little lower than what it used to, I've taken pictures of before and after... you can see them below.

Not too sure it made any difference on fuel consumption to be honest :(

With regards to overall cooling abilities, it could be just my impression, but the aircon seems to be working better, especially these days that I really needed it on full blast!.

Overall, for £25 I think it's a worthwhile addition to your cooling system, wonder what the SC or TT guys would experience with it on! :D

Hi Guys

I too have had this in my coolant system over the last month and have to say it has been better.

It has been hard to tell recently due to unuseual hot weather but During the Hot spell over the last few weeks it has kept the needle at the ideal position without having to turn on the fan system that much.

Oh well just one way to find out if it works well with FI now for us :teeth:

Interesting read well done.

Though I wonder if its better for your engine to run at correct operating temperature as quick as possible, running cooler I would have thought means running with additional fuel, also the cooling system and oil system have a direct link in terms of operating temperature, Nissan would have had a firm idea at what temperature they wanted the oil temperatures to be.

What's your thoughts?

I doubt the difference is very much tbh and seems like another method of emptying your pocket to me, if you want to to run the engine temps cooler just run a lower temp thermostat.
