Recommended Posts

Hi Folks, not got my Z yet but hopefully will be able to order it soon.

Having a wee bit of bother trying to convince my good lady and need a bit of help working out the financial side of the arguement. A few of questions -

average life of tyre and cost to replace

realistic fuel consumption (especially round town)

servicing costs

and finally residuals after 3 years at 20k/year.

please help - I want this car!

and yes ....... I am a woose!!

average life of tyre and cost to replace-------around 10k miles + or - 5K about £150 each

realistic fuel consumption (especially round town)------20 - 25mpg

servicing costs------ as much as you want to pay :scare: P2 services around £200

and finally residuals after 3 years at 20k/year.-------- look in the Autotrader 3 year old cars are fetching around £16K

your never going to convince your wife these are cheap to run, so may as well give up that angle

Thanks for that. I will check out a local supplier for the REO40's.

Do the main dealers differ greatly in their pricing and is supplying your own oil something that they just put up with if you insist?

Rosco - with no track days just general driving I'm up 13,500 miles on the Bridgestones... Reckon I've got a couple of mm on the rears with about 3.5mm on the fronts...

Kwick-fit quoted £470, thats with 25% off for 4 new Perilli Pzero's!!!!

Oh and a puncture cost £17.5

If you do have a flat like I did, it's also difficult 2 spot!!! 70mph with 10psi in the tyre :scare: car was still rock solid

Cheers Tim, much appreciated.

Mike - I may just have to arrive home in it. You may hear the fall out from where ever you are.

Turn and and tell her that your taking her shopping. End of...

It will be worth the credit card bashing for one day.
