JF01 Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 Hi, Looking for some help on why my car has 'died' on me a couple of time. Basically, sitting in a long queue (30mins) of traffic this morning when all of a suddenly, nothing. My car totally cut out, no hazards or anything worked. Totally gone. This had happened once last year and I sort of played about with the battery and it came on again. So this time, I jumped out in a fit of panic and basically Pressed hard (punched) on the battery connections and everything came back on. Would this simply be a connection thing or more likely a battery issue? I'm a bit concerned for when driving home at 70mph and it just 'dies' on me. Any help would be appreciated. PS - It's an import with the slim battery if that makes any difference. Cheers. JF Quote
martinmac Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 Hi bud, the smaller batteries on the imports could be the issue. I would suggets taking advantage of one of the franchises offering a frree battery check. Quote
Stew Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 Sounds like the connections. I'd be making sure they were tight! Quote
Darren-B Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 it could be something other than the battery, as once the car is running the battery is not used, ie you can dis connect it with the car running. Quote
M13KYF Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 may be an earthing issue with the battery. Charge is still going to it when the motor is running so not totally unsued as previous post Quote
