adammitch69 Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 Afternoon All, With the collapse of XL all flights have gone up 300% so decided to take my Roadster (owned it for 2 weeks) on a little trip. Thinking of Dover-Calias then quickest route to Nice... few days rounds there then make way to Valencia on the Spanish coast. Any suggestions/tips/ideas will be greatfully appreciated. Also never driven abroad (well smart car in Greece) so any foreign police/speed trap advice welcome ;-) Cheers Adam Quote
stanski Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 Cool! thats roughly what I want to do next year in my roadster! Driven in France before- absolute doddle - fab roads but takes you hours to get anywhere even on the toll roads (which are excellent btw) just because its such a large country! Food and wine obvisouly excellent even in the smallest backwater potting shed service station! (Lorry stops are cheap and very good btw) Most petrol stations are now credit/debit card automated so dont worry if you cant speak da lingo! Spain on the other hand I dont know - but I do know they have the highest death rate due to muppet drivers so be ware!! I used Speed ferries - Dover - Bologne - cheap and easy to get across Think there are some posts on here about driving abroad - do a quick search, Let us know how you get on and plenty of pictures please Quote
adammitch69 Posted September 20, 2008 Author Posted September 20, 2008 i will take loads of pics and document my route once I get back for future reference. Ferry leaves on Monday :-) Quote
