Complete brain dead idea or not!?

is there way to check if the car is legit!? i.e. give the reg number to check it aint stolen etc.

looking @ an M3 cab with a slight bit of front end damage looks to be from a proper company but says no V5! is it just a matter of applying to the dvala for the log book!?

i would jump onto the DVLA website and have a browse or ask them the question. Although I'm sure some of the motor industry people on here will know.

You have to apply for a new one through the DVLA and they then contact the regustered owner to check they are the ones that were selling it. Problem though imo is that how do you know who the car is registered to? You could do an HPI check but that would only protect you against a reported theft or finance. With the fact that it has damage as well, I would personally walk away bearing in mind the value of the car.

Just my 2p's worth

Im in the trade, if you p.m. me the reg ill check it out for you. With regards to the V5 if you have the green slip from the V5 i believe you can tax it with a V62 form from the DVLA

Bloody hell - that could have ruined your weekend when the old bill pulled you up on the way home! How much was it going for if it wasn't the one Sarnie found?

Thank God for this site
