different tyre size to stock and insurance?

Just a thought, if i stuck 245/50/17 instead of the stock size 235/50/17, and i mashed the car up some unsuspecting brick wall, could my insurance company refuse to pay out on this technicality?

They certainly could. Hell, if you change the gearknob and don't tell them they still could! Tell them everything you've ever done and you'll never have to worry about it.

As long as you declare all mods to your insurers, you'll be OK.

 

If you don't, you do run the risk of them declining the claim.
