Traktion Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 Has anyone else had this? It sounds like I have a family of mice in the back of my car atm! I'll add it to the list of things to sort out when I get it serviced I guess... Quote
Rish Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 I had mine checked out and they found a budgie... After assurances that they had found the budgie a good home, I drove away only to find that its new home was in the strut brace, again!!! Quote
Removed Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 fixed it myself! easy to dismantle the plastics of the rear strut bar, locate the squeak, and solve with tape Quote
AndyC Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 I haven't got the squeek but need to sort out 1 of the fixings for my tonneau cover so good to know that the plastic's an easy take off!! Quote
M13KYF Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 You don't need to take the plastics off to fix the tonneau cover. Quote
Traktion Posted April 11, 2006 Author Posted April 11, 2006 Mr Minel, do you have one of those nice howtos for this? It'd save me taking it down the garage and I can get a new pet at the same time too! Quote
AndyC Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 Cheers, I know. The problem is with one of the covers fixings (underneath the strut) - it looks like its snapped off from the inside. I thought if I could strip the plastics of the strut down I could see how bad it is and then go about putting it right. Quote
AndyC Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 Sorry Trak, don't want to seem like I'm tryin to steal your thread btw Quote

Traktion Posted April 11, 2006 Author Posted April 11, 2006 Sorry Trak, don't want to seem like I'm tryin to steal your thread btw No problem! Many thanks to both of those links/images! Looks like I have a mini project to do! Quote
Traktion Posted April 11, 2006 Author Posted April 11, 2006 BTW, does anyone have a similar link/diagram for rattles in the left of the centre console too? I used one of the existing ones to dissmantle the centre console in search of a squeek, but found it was to the left of it! I have a squeek just to the left of the air vent to the left of the centre console it seems! Why can't they just wrap tape around everything when they're putting these things together?! Quote
Guest prescience Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 I believe a suitable placed small pad (about 1.5cms square) hidden away and wedged in solves the above problem; between windscreen and edge of console on passenger side near corner Sure this has been done a few times and no need to take the thing apart on that score Exact location someone please Quote
