Anywhere near to 9 minutes is a good effort - so much depends on traffic though. Always good to put the wind up a lot of far less committed M3's!

I take it you mean the Nordschleife / Nurburgring.

I've done a dozen or so laps in a week-end, all in the wet / damp.

If you go, don't time yourself, and then try to improve it.

You will end up with a large bill for armco repairs.

Go and enjoy it for what it is, you will be faster than some and slower than lots.

I was a passenger in a highley tuned RS4 on one lap, and my pilot was "outdriven" by a VW Sharran diesel.

Drivers skill and local knowledge make the real difference round that place.

If you go, have fun and forget the stopwatch.

I was there mid April. It was very wet so took it easy.

I reckon around 9 mins BTG should be fair in the dry, but in the wet ........

as has already been said, try not to get hung up on laptimes. Its all about enjoying yourself.

Obviously people do time themselves, I just set the GPS going and put it in the glovebox, then look at the end of the day. I find I put less pressure on myself that way.

for info, my Golf MK2 with 170HP has done an 8:46, so the Z should be in the low 8`s with a driver who knows the ring AND the car.
