350z handbrake light not working

Hello,

 

Ever since I’ve owned my 350z the handbrake light has never worked. I took apart my centre console to check the wire and it’s at 8v and the light in the dash works. Are there any common faults? Does anyone have any ideas?

Turns out the sensor wasn't working propely due to some rust on the sensor. I sandpapered the rust off and now it's working perfectly. Hope this helps anyone else who has this issue in the future.
