Squeaky clutch

Hi, hoping someone can advise on the below...

 

Always seems to be something wrong at the moment. 

 

My clutch pedal when lifting off makes a loud squeak which is audible outside of the car.

 

Clutch seems to be operating ok but it also makes a clunky noise but pretty sure it's been there since I bought the car.

if its an external slave cylinder I would pull back the rubber boot and add some grease, i find once the slave is old the water gets in and it starts to squeak then fail.

thanks for the advice. Yes I've a rev-up so its external. Can you get to the slave without jacking the car up? 

 

I've got a replacement slave kit I purchased from Tarmac when they had an offer on but didn't want to swap the slave until I did the clutch and flywheel.

 

WD40 good enough to grease it?
