Bose sound system and cabling issue

Hi Guys and Gals, really hoping you can help me here, I have spent the past few days wracking my brain (and google.. okay mainly google) to try and get my Bose system to work, when I got the car the headunit turned on but no back lighting seems to work with or without headlights on, there is static in the speakers but no sound.. Both amps are in the car and nothing seems obviously wrong with them, I opened up both and the paper trick (if you know) has been done to the sub amp.

So behind the headunit some cables have been cut and spliced etc from I presume and aftermarket screen and there are a couple of cables which don't have homes? There are power cables running through the car to the boot for an aftermarket sound setup but from what I can see the original amp is still plugged in and I think it works as when disconnected the very quiet static in the speakers goes away. Please see pictures to see what I mean... so does anyone know if:
A: The 2 cables with no homes are meant to be like that?
B: The thicker grey cables in the loom are OEM? As some of the smaller cables coming out of them seem to be newer and none have the pink spot that seems to be on the older looking cables, also the earths of 2 of these thicker grey cables are being fed into one cable using new looking sleeves and going into the back of the headunit.
C: Does anyone have a guaranteed UK headunit cable colour chart as I have found loads of different ones

I will also attach pictures of  the things I have found if anyone could explain what might have gone on with the car it would really help, I am new at trying to fix these things and have never tried to fix cabling like this before. I am trying to avoid taking it to a garage unless it really isn't something as simple as the cabling being wrong.

Thanks!

Dogs breakfast springs to mind.

I doubt if you will figure this out mate and as you say the wiring diagrams are not much help.

If you confirm the year and model of your car then I could send you over images of the wiring from an actual 350Z with a Bose Sound System.

Just tell me what pictures you require in simple terms.

Yeah it doesn't look like an easy one! Think the previous owner had a lot of messing around done..

My Z is a 2004 Grand Touring I am pretty sure (heated leather seats, brembos and all steering wheel controls).

I would need images of the 3 plugs which go into the back of the headunit so that i can see the cable layout (mainly which colours are where)

I would ideally like to see the loom which the cables for the headunit are in like my image above (second picture) mainly to make sure that those thicker grey cables are present and are Nissan originals, although my loom has been stripped back further than is normal so depends if you have that available.

The only issue I have is that there are multiple cables of the same colours.. is there any way for my to identify which cable belongs to which plug. So what I mean is that I have 3 orange cables, one of them obviously isn't going to fit in the 2 places where I believe the oranges go but how do I know which of the 3 is the one to leave out or would that be trial and error?

Hope that made sense if not let me know and I will try and clarify it more, sorry still learning how to explain all these things

Thank you
