DanFino Posted June 20, 2019 Posted June 20, 2019 (edited) Hello I bought a flip key case from Germany from eBay. It looks quite good quality but the battery compartment seems to be a cr2025 or cr2016 size The battery in my keys is smaller than this. Yet I have done of the batteries I've mentioned above and they fit in the new case. Did I buy the wrong one? Or should I buy a different key as a donor for the internals? TIA Edited June 20, 2019 by DanFino Quote
EzeePzee Posted June 20, 2019 Posted June 20, 2019 If I remember rightly, its a cr2016 battery that’s needed. What size is the battery in yours? There are several revisions of the Nissan key, with different PCBs internal. I suppose it’s possible that there was a variation on battery too. They should all be 3v (check this) and the battery numbers just refer to diameter and thickness. (In this case 20=20mm diameter and 16= 1.6mm thick) Sometimes batteries are doubled up - is 2 x cr2016 = 1 x cr2032. Quote
DanFino Posted June 20, 2019 Author Posted June 20, 2019 Hiya. Cheers for the response. In the cars key the battery has a diameter of like 10-12mm I'd guess. The new key case has a slot for the 20mm ones you mention. I was fairly confused. Quote
