Intermittent Clicking/tapping sound when in gear and driving

Have an 06 JDM 350z on around 50k miles, its just started recently making a clicking or tapping coming from the gearbox tunnel/dash area under the CD player. The frequency of the clicking/tapping increases with RPM and is loudest in 1st gear while decelerating or accelerating. It will only make this sound when in gear and fully off the clutch (engaged)

The noise seemingly only happens when the car is warm and been driving for a while or if it has a little tail happy fun. But will go away for a while if i let the car idle in neutral or turn it off.

i have recently changed to a single mass flywheel and the noise started about 250miles after it was fitted.

Car was taken back to the garage who looked and everything seemed fine (intermittent sound, so obviously wouldn't make it when at the garage) They topped up the gearbox oil to be safe but it took less than 1L and seemed fine to them.

Searched everywhere possible but all i've found is the common axle click nothing about this issue, other than heater matrix but i'm sure if the noise was from that it wouldn't only happen when in gear and moving???

Thanks in advance!

The heater matrix flap issue can be tricky to diagnose, however, process of elimination is key.

Induce the fault and have a play with the heater controls to see if the noise changes.

Failing that it would appear that it is gearbox back out again time for further inspection, but best to let a 350 specialist have a listen for an informed diagnoses prior to pulling the box.
