W brace - how to guide

Hi I was wondering if there was a guide for w brace and the rear suspension member stay bracket removal/ replacement. If not anyone got any tips. Think I will replace the lot as I suspect the brace to stay bracket bolts will shear on removal.

Hi Steve,

 

It's pretty simple, see this diagram here: 

Use lots of WD40 on the bolts prior to start removing them. Most likely the one holding the plastic shields will snap, don't worry about them, you don't need time put them back or you might have lost them already.

 

Did you buy the bolts and nuts as well for the W brace and stay brackets? Quite possible these will also snap. Go easy on them so you don't have the drill them out.

dont fancy the stay bracket bolts breaking... I am assuming there nut is captive within the body? 

 

be another job for the winter. I haven't got the parts yet so no doubt will be in touch regarding them and the hardware kits at some point.
