Reading the dipstick is fine once you get the hang of it. I check mine weekly just to be safe.

Might be worth running a compression test if you do find the oil dropping quickly. I have a Rev-up so know all about oil issues! (Looking to do a full engine refurb though, hopefully you don't need anything so drastic)

Drove the 184 miles back last night, left it to cool and have just checked the level again. Still in the same place with none missing so fingers crossed. Yeah I might end up doing a compression test this weekend while Im over at my mates unit sorting audio stuff out.
