Derry's Pearl White 2004 JDM Convertible

Hi everyone,

This is my second thread after having some great info on my first welcome thread back in May. (all very helpful and welcoming)

I have had the Zed for 2 weeks now, I knew how great they were as my uncle has an 05 Uk Spec convertible, and I have wanted one for 3 years since he got his.

Now that I have started saving for a house the highly modified track based cars/money pits I have had are a thing of the past, i needed something that can do it all (I will post some pictures if people like....All rotaries though!)

So back in May I found a nice UK Spec with 84K on in gun metal for £6K from a dealer, managed to sort a part ex with a corsa I had bought cheap so the car would only cost me £5k.

Something didn't seem right with the car or the salesman and I decided to shelve the idea until i have sold this corsa and had cash available.

Fast forward 3 months, i sold the corsa and started hunting for my car, after learning that Pearl white was an option on the JDM car and having had imports in the past I decided that was what I wanted.

Knowing that I would need to do the Brembo upgrade and get used to KPH again, i set about looking for my car, this one came up on ebay 127K Km's (79K miles) needs a new roof as do most convertibles in my price range, has the rear click, and a little untidy interior, I used all these bargaining points to my advantage and came away with the car for £4200 Cash!

I have booked in with Carhood warehouse in surrey for the new hood on 7th of next month, bought headlight restoration kit that i will be doing this weekend along with a 7 stage detail. I plan to get the interior parts off and sand down to be wrapped in piano black. That will be it for this year, next year will be recovered seats in white leather and steering wheel refurbed in alacantra with white stiching and the brembo upgrade.

Also I have done a swap deal with a friend of mine for some standard RAYS alloys for my track tyres.... anyway here are some pics of her.....

Always loved the PPW Z's. Got the car for a great price as well!

Clicking rear axle is a simple fix to be honest, you can either re-grease the splines for a temporary fix OR apply some loctite to the splines for a more semi-permanent fix!

Good luck with the mods! :)

Had the car down to carhood warehouse in surry, 5 hour commute, the cars 4th long trip in as many weeks and again hasn't missed a beat, these things are quality on the motorway.

i will post some before and afters when i get home tomorrow night....£645 all in for black replacement vinyl roof fitted, not very personal service but turned it round in 3 hours.
