Exhaust sections

Only had my 350Z a couple of months so this may seem like a stupid question so i apologise in advance.

 

Are the different sections of exhaust interchangeable from different manufacturers?

 

ie. Will a Milltek rear box fit with a Cobra mid section and a Stillen Y pipe, lastly joined to Japspeed decats.

No not usually from the y pipe back , though some of the cheaper back boxes will fit onto the oem mid section. Y pipes and cats/de cats are interchangeable though.

I've seen a Milltek back box for sale but it doesn't come with the pipe. It's literally just the box. Would i HAVE to use the rest of the rear section plus a Milltek Y pipe as well then?

You could use any y pipe but I'm sure you'd need a milltek mid section. You could always get one made.

You need the Milltek centre pipe, any Y pipe will fit though
