Stock Market trading apps

Does anyone dabble in shares? I've always had shares for the company I work for so done a lot of buying and selling but only ever in the one company via share plans.

I downloaded the Trading 212 app and have used the practice account but the one thing confusing me at the moment is what are the values of the prices listed? I always assumed they would all be listed in pence, i.e. 300.00 being £3 (as UK markets are) but having bought some dummy shares in VW on the practice account I'm not so sure. Would these be listed in pounds i.e 300.00 be £300?

Anyone able to explain this better to a dummy like me?

Cheers :)

Okay, thanks for clarification. That does confirm I was initially right in thinking that prices are all listed in pence as they are currently listed as 108.0400 on Tradibg 212.

What I can't work out though is how the 1000 (practice) shares I bought in VW at 97p made me around £8000 profit when they only rises to 108p?
