Carbon fibre plenum

The coolant pipes are for heating the TB in colder climates, hence that my350z folk choose depending on where in the US to bypass the plenum coolant input/output.

If you live in Sweden for instance, it's there for -10 temps (example).

Having a carbon plenum with coolant input/output makes no sense purely as its not metal. Which is why you won't have pipes for the coolant.

I believe these pipes are to stop the TB being exposed to freezing temps. Once warm the coolent circulates through these pipes. As you say, it's a popular mod in the state's to keep intake temps down. As long as you're not driving in freezing conditions, I can't see bypassing it with a link pipe being an issue!

Looking forward to seeing this CF plenum installed :D
