  1. They do look good but unfortunately mine started to peel off on the passenger side after a few months.

That was after careful shaping and cleaning the surfaces as well

Mine are currently sitting in my kitchen waiting for my lazy ass to sort out some new backing for them. (they peeled off alarmingly easy as well :surrender: )

Does look a lot better with them than without though.

  2. In the interest of fair balance. I should just say that I recently used Glynn Hopkin Colchester for my P3/MOT and warranty work and have no complaints.

Things to bear in mind are:

    1) Price of £310 for the P3 had to be haggled to.

    2) The MOT is free for life if the car is purchased from them. So thats a fair saving.

    3) I didn't need a courtesy car.

    4) I told them not to wash it.

I got a complete set of new Rays through warranty and had no difficulty at all. All the work was carried out on the service to my satisfaction.

I actually work on the same estate as GBH and they have supplied tyres on my car but have not used them for any mechanical work (Still in warranty). So it would be good to know how they are.

  3. Thats outrageous

I'm going to pop in there on Friday to try and sort out an issue with a re-furbed Rays they did as part of the deal when I brought the car.

Seems Stevie Wonder had a go at it and then forget to laquer the finish. We'll see how I get on, but I'm now preparing for a row.

Have you tried GBH Motorsport in Langham. Worth a phone call maybe.

    cough,cough. ahem :headhurt:

  4. I paid just over £200 at my nissan stealer for the P3. They knocked £65 off as i didn't want the oil changed. I paid Kwik fit £30 to change the oil

Just shows how wildly erratic the dealerships are. :surrender:

I've just had a P3 done for £310 all in and the oil only came to £15 on the invoice.

  5. I'm taking my car to the dealer on Saturday morning for its P3. They are charging £350 all in. I know this is steep but is my only option. (FJ Chalke in Wincanton)

In order to try and save a little, which oil can i buy and how much do i need? 5l?? Also, where can i buy it??

    Thanks guys.

p.s. as you can tell, i'm failry new to zed ownership!

Have you checked how much the dealer will knock off if you take them your own oil?

Reason i ask is that i tried the same with my dealer and was told the difference in cost would only be about £10 due to the dealers buying their oil in huge bulk quantities.

Worth checking before you buy your own.

  6. Places orders here. i'll get a list together i think it may be a case of rob posting a bundle to me and i'll send them out so might be a couple of £ ontop to cover paypal and postage costs on my end, but it literally would be no more than £2. i'll sit down and work it out later.

  7. I think you would struggle to find significantly lower prices down south. good luck though.

Agreed, i've just booked a P3 in Colchester for £310. That was after haggling it down twice. :boxing:

The starting price was £404

  8. it might be possible to do the whole badge in silver, but i don't know about a brushed ally effect. i plan to debadge the 350z on the right hand side to balance out the car if that helps

Its more the shade of the silver than having an actual brushed surface effect.

I just prefer the 'duller' silver of the door handles to a brighter silver.

I'm OK with black if it cannot be done.

    Cheers

(and don't you mean left hand side) :p

  9. those of you who have refered to black infills on the rear i understand as i mentioned this might be possible.

but those who have mnetioned brushed aluminium, i dn o't quite get what your asking for as i had never mentioned it before.

are you wanting the whole badge to be done in silver with no colour infill? it might be possible but its worth you clarifying with me and rob what you actually mean.

I was thinking the whole "Tommy K" rear badge in silver . When i said brushed, I meant the same colour as the rear 350Z badge and the door handles. It might not be possible, i dunno. Just think it would look smart on a black zed.

Did Rob mention anything about getting around the issue with the front badge/bumper raised locators.

Really appreciate all the effort you're putting into this.

  10. Just had a quick thought on this...

How would he be able to get around the fact that there are two raised-up little locating pieces on the standard front bumper? Is there a way of adding indents on the rear surface of likwid art material.

or would they have to be dremeled off to fit the front badges.

Just throwing it out there...... ;) Really interested to see what he comes up with.

  13. Mick,

I live in Brightlingsea, and its black. There's a silver and a blue in the town as well but I hardly ever see them or any other zeds on the road locally at all.

    Edit

***Hmm....just realised there's two Simon's in this thread***

  14. I have my car booked in for its P2 service at Glyn Hopkins in Colchester on Wednesday. Agreed price of £260, they originally quoted £360, then £300, so quite proud of my haggling. I will let you know how it goes.

How can they justify asking £360 for a P2??? And then to knock £100 off just because you questioned it

Mines due at the end of June but I'm not liking how they do their quoting at all

+ I've got a warranty issue to bring up with them about one the wheels.

Have to go there really as I'm still under warranty...
