  1. Will warp space and time Glad you went for the W6, you won't be disappointed. Install looks intreaguing, look forward to seeing pictures. I went for the W7 range... not sure if that is any different! Lol Same technology went into both the W6 & W7 but be prepared for involuntary bowel movements with a well powered W7 Sweet - ill just blame it on the mrs
  2. Im taking my into my local audio specialist to tidy everything up for me. I am trying to make some kind of custom mount for the pc in the back but having difficulties at present. I may uprage to 2x 10" w7 but unsure yet. My installer is bit of a whizzkid and kinda easily sells me into paying more and more on cool, but unnecessary equipment! I am tempted with this reverse camera.... any ideas where to mount the camera. I assume it would have to be a wide aspect camera? Bear

  4. Mut... I found it difficult to mould my screen becuase there is a steel bar going across where the climate control programmer is. It is very tight but can be done. I would recommend pulling out the bose system and then measuring the dimensions you have left. My screen didnt fit so I put mine in the cubby hole about it and put a blanking plate over the double dim slot with a CD player.
  5. Well... Soon realised that the subwoofer will not fit into the current location so I have a friend building me a box for the boot. The screen is all up and running without any issues. However the transformer I have to run the carpc is not powerful enough to turn it on... Originally I plugged it into a 12V input behind the seats and it turned on no problem. I then wired it into the back of the 12V line and ran the wire into the boot. The transformer powers on but it doesnt turn on the PC. There is nothing wrong with the PC as I have tested on the household mains. What I think is the problem is that... I ran the 12V line into a mini distribution block to split the power between the remote wire to the amps and thirdly the transformer. I am thinking that the splitting of power has caused a power shortage going to the PC. Any ideas?
  6. From the amp located in the glove box behind passenger seat!
  7. Any ideas on best places to put the ground cable? Sorry for all the questions boys!
  8. Ok Just needed to know the Ground (Number 10) line. Light Green in the manual but doesnt seem to be working still. Working out a different route so should be sorted now. Any ideas on best places to put the ground cable

  12. No piccies just yet. Hit a little big of snag! .... I swapped in the Alpine amp as I soon realised it wont evewn tickle the JL Audio W7 10" Subwoofer and I got myself, a recommended, Orion 2400D Amp. I have the PC up and running now. The install if tomorrow. WIll let you guys know how I get on! lol
  13. well the install If someone showed me how to post photos I would.... But until I will have to make do. I proceed to that off the centre console, bose head unit out... easy peasy. Error.... the screen doesnt fit, dimensions were wrong from the website. So I mounted the screen in the upper cubby. Looks ok but no perfect. Put all the wiring under the arm rest etc to make it neat. I laid the cables to the boot, amps, fitted the rainbow speakers to behind the headrest. Easy enough - broke 2 plastic clips tho! lol So im almost done all I have to do now is... Power from the battery to the amps, wire in the sub and amps, fit the door speakers and tweeters and its there! Took 6 hours yesterday and im covered in scratches and cuts from the cheap plastic! Sweet:rant: question tho... What is the little electic box in the passenger side glove box?
  14. Well actually I was forced into rethinking on the subwoofer issue. The AudioBahn was out of stock so I chose the only one above it and it was JL Audio - £135 increase... got it for free - for my inconvenience! Cheers for the support guys!
  15. Just to give you lovely ladies a little updateI have almost recieved all the a parts. My house is a little bit like a warehouse at the moment with all the feckin boxes! In the end I made some slight changes to the set up. I got myself Rainbow speakers and upgraded to a JL Audio 10" Subwoofer. £499 from BassJunkies. Still waiting on the screen tho, which again is a little bit of a **** up. They didnt have the one I wanted in stock so I went for the model up. Basically im absolutely skint! In 3 weeks I spent £17000 on the car and now £3k audio! You only life once and all that! Ill let ya know how I get on with the install - with provide pics
  16. Looking at that list, you don't seem to have a car PSU? I was looking at one of these: http://linitx.com/viewproduct.php?prodid=12004 Will turn the power on and off when you turn the ignition on and off and also provides 250W to power everything in your machine. Im using the standard PSU will a 12V ~ 240V transformer
  17. Using Centrafused - already donwloaded
  18. Id say only the Alpine amps are 'run of the mill' but I couldnt find something that was suitable and powerful enough to run the components. Subwoofer is £400 alone Infinitys - £280 JL Audio - £120 Amps - £300 each ish About £1500 in total - roughly

  25. Im going to boot windows from a highspeed corsair USB stick. It has ultra quick reading and writing speeds that it can boot windows XP (Vista too slow) in 15seconds no problem. It would only be possible to run one PCI slot and one hard drive becuase of power issues. It will be wired in that when the ignition key is turned the PC is automatically turned on and when the key is out the PC is off. I have thought about the possibility of an external drive to save heat etc but one harddrive will not hurt. Im going to order the screen today... trying to find a screen which would fit into the double din slot... (not using the satnav cubby hole). Any ideas anyone... and I dont want a motorised one!
