  1. I know what you mean about the toy thing - but I quite like it (must be the child inside me! :) )

Cheers for all the help with the Zed too Mitz - I'm not sure I'll be getting quite as good value on the Porker servicing unfortunately! :yuck:

  2. Well, after just over 3 yrs of zed ownership, I finally said goodbye to her last week ( :byebye::byebye: )after trading in for a Cayman S

I've truly loved the Zed, but just fancied a bit of a change - and as many people have said before, always dreamed of owning a Porsche. The new car's great, but just in a different way to the Zed, which was a much more of a 'no frills' driving experience, which I personally loved.

Anyway, I just wanted to say a thanks to everyone who helped out with my Zed questions over the years. It's a really great forum - and although I'm not as involved as many, will still be reserving a special place for it in my bookmarks ;) and I'm sure one day I'll be back again (GTR maybe?) :)

I've attached a couple of pics of the new motor anyway - hope you like! :headhurt:

  3. Guy I know picked up the plate 'HE11 YEA' today as soon as it was released or something. Got it for 400 quid. Apparently it's worth close to 10k, jammy git :)

On the subject of private plates, I've got one, mainly to hide car's age, plus it was a prezzie. It's H7ML V, which means nothing to anyone else except me (and it's meaning is the saddest thing ever!) haha

  4. Just a quick update on this to help out anyone with similar issues - yes it was the passenger front side bearings that were the culprit. I've had these replaced (well the whole hub) and now noises 2 and 3 have gone - and also the interior rattling randomly seems to have gone, which maybe is down to a change in the resonance created by the old bearings? But what do I know!

Anyway, I'm happy at least!! :)

  5. I've been meaning to post for a while about a few noises with the car that ideally I'd like to get sorted at my next service in a few hundred miles, but could do some help identifying what the possibly could be! They're as follows:

    Noise 1

This is just a bit of cabin noise really. It comes from the passenger door at around 20 - 50mph on rougher road surfaces (must be the right resonance i guess) It's kind of a monotonous rattle, but if I press firmly on the plastic of the armrest (i.e the bit with the electric windows switch in it) or the bit underneath it, the noise stops momentarily.

    Noise 2

Every morning, when I initially start the car and hang a left out of my road, I can hear a momentary sound of grating metal that seems to come from the front passenger wheel area. It's nothing too drastic, and after that it doesn`t happen again until I leave the car parked for a bit and make my first 'full left' turn again. This started happening since I had my new clutch fitted, but that could easily just be co-incidence.

    Noise 3

This is the most recent one, and most annoying. I think it might be bearings, but I'm no mechanic. Basically it can only be described as a dull throbbing sound that seems to come from the front driver wheel. The sound speeds up and slows down with the car and seems to be in time with the rotation of the wheels.

Any that's it! I'm really just hoping maybe some of these are recongised issues or people have had them before and can shed some more light. Thanks in advance for any help!:thumbs::thumbs:

  6. Well, I lost my detailing cherry today (well, sort of - I didn`t actually get my own hands dirty)

Used a company in Harrogate, Divine Detailing who did a really good job of it (I got the protection detail) :#1:

Some pics below for those who fancy a peek:

    Looks like a different car!

Anyway, would recommend them if anyone in the area fancies getting some similar.

  7. I'd say that's a good price for what seems to be a well looked after car - I'd even have expected it to be slightly more expensive - but someone more knowledgable will probably come along and correct me :)

    - hmm, missed the 5 owners part - I guess it depends on how you personally feel about that

  8. Hi all,

Massive favour to ask seeing you lot seem a nice caring bunch (most of the time! ;) )

I work at a web design company, and a we made is up for what are heralded as the Oscars of the internet (the Webby Awards) which are held in New York in June. I'd really love to win one, as it would be the highlight of my career I reckon.

At the moment it's a two horse race between us and YO! Sushi, and we're just ahead, but they're pulling out the stops to beat us. Voting closes tomorrow, so we're nearly there - but it's not over yet!

The site we made is for Giraffe Restaurants (http://www.giraffe.net)

You can vote using the link below - and you could even win a £100 meal at Giraffe if that's your thing. Its only take 2 mins.

Thanks so much in advance - means a lot!

    Cheers

    Alex
